Indoor air quality inspection files, 1983-1990.

The Indoor Air Quality Inspection Section within the division strives to provide Alabama residents with access to a program of indoor air quality investigations into building related illness and detection of gaseous indoor air contaminates and asbestos surveys (DPH Annual Report, 1988). The Indoor Air Quality Section provides onsite testing services for pollutants such as formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, and other volatile organic compounds. These services are provided in both publicly and privately owned structures. Following testing, the department makes recommendations as to what steps, if any, should be taken. These files contain correspondence concerning air samples taken at various locations, condensation records and the results of the tests.
